Sport BOP backing Play Week Aotearoa 2023
Sport Bay of Plenty is supporting Play Week Aotearoa 2023, with Play Passports available online and at a number of locations across the Bay.
The theme for this year is Play is Everywhere, and we want to encourage whānau to explore their local awa, moana, ngahere, taiao, playground and backyard.
Play Week Aotearoa 2023 promotes the importance of play for everyone – tamariki, whānau and communities – across Aotearoa New Zealand. Play can positively influence a young person’s resilience and wellbeing.
During Play Week, parents, caregivers and whānau are encouraged to take time to connect with their kids through play. It’s not only fun, but it also helps with your kid’s learning and development.
"We're excited to see the support for Play Week grow every year,” says Sport BOP Regional Play Lead, Steph Reichardt.
“This year our local councils and schools are all over it and keen to encourage play everywhere."
Play Week Aotearoa runs from November 6-12.
