Major Fund applications

Round 2 is now closed.

The Major Fund supports projects or programmes on a larger scale. Up to $40,000 is available for each Major Fund application. A second round of the Major Fund is now closed.

Applying for the Major Fund is a two-stage process

Stage 1

Complete an expression of interest form below. This stage helps ensure you are eligible for Tū Manawa funding. We will provide feedback on what you have submitted (if required) and an indication of further work that might need to be done before a full application should be completed.

After stage one, one of our team members will be in touch to confirm your eligibility and forward you a link to the Major Fund application form.

Stage 2

If you are eligible for the fund, you will receive a link via email to the Major Fund online application form. This form comprises 27 questions asking for details about your organisation, activity/project, kaupapa Māori links, insights and outcomes, delivery partners and financial information.

You can download a PDF example of this application, but please be aware we will only accept applications via our online portal.

Before you start your application, we recommend you download the below guide to get a better understanding of what's required in each question.
