Sport Bay of Plenty, has the vision of enriching lives through sport, recreation and physical activity with the main objective to have more people, more active, more often. To achieve this objective, our organisation, staff and board, recognise the importance of collaborating with and learning from Māori to ensure we are responding appropriately.

Following years of well-intentioned but inconsistent focus regarding cultural competency as an organisation, Sport BOP now recognises the need for greater focus in this area. Working with our Māori Advisory group with have developed a Sport Bay of Plenty Māori Strategy and invite you to read it.
