In this role, you will support our Green Prescription Programme and have a mix of administrative and advisory duties. Administration tasks include booking appointments for clients referred to the programme, answering general queries, entering clients into our database and following up on appointments. In addition to this, you will have a caseload of referred GRx clients where you will provide support and advice to referred GRx clients on how to improve their health by becoming more physically active.

Healthy Active Learning Advisor

Are you passionate about promoting active, healthy lifestyles for tamariki through education and physical activity? Sport Bay of Plenty is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Healthy Active Learning Advisor based in Rotorua.

Working alongside another Healthy Active Learning Advisor, you will work into 37 primary and intermediate schools across the Central Bay of Plenty to provide support to schools and kura to understand the value of the health and physical education curriculum as well as advocating for quality school and community play, sport and physical activities outside curriculum time. You will work closely with principals, senior leaders and teachers of primary and intermediate schools and kura to provide advice and customised support.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification, in education, sport/recreation / community sport / development or have;
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of the operating models in primary and intermediate schools and/or kura; and
  • Experience in designing and facilitating professional learning and development opportunities

Regular travel throughout the Central Bay of Plenty region is required so applicants must hold a drivers licence. Any appointment will be also be conditional upon a satisfactory police vetting check.
