Future Fit Conference Aims to Inspire Innovation and Growth

Sport Bay of Plenty is excited to announce that our inaugural Future Fit Conference is now less than a month away, taking place on Wednesday, 12 March at BayPark Arena in Tauranga.

As the conference title suggests, the theme of the day is ‘sport and recreation in a changing world’. As the world around us continues to evolve, so must our approach to sport, recreation, and play. We’ll be focusing on how to adapt and innovate to ensure we continue to engage and inspire the next generation.

This event provides a fantastic opportunity for those in the sport, recreation, and play sectors to come together, demonstrate regional leadership, and align on key strategic elements toward a thriving physical activity sector. This includes:

  • Engaging young people - Discover the changing trends in how young people are engaging in sport and recreation, and ways to keep them actively involved.
  • Sustainable Spaces - Learn about the importance of creating sustainable, resilient sport, recreation and play spaces that meet participants' needs.
  • Smart Funding - Gain insights on navigating tough fiscal environments and attracting funding for sport, recreation and play initiatives.

With that in mind, the event will offer a series of sessions and insights on rangatahi and sport, including how to engage with the captains and leaders of tomorrow. We will then explore the importance of sustainable spaces and places, including a panel discussion from some key figures from the industry before diving deep into smart funding for the future.

With keynote speakers such as international coaching expert Wayne Goldsmith and many more from the world of sport, business, philanthropy and local government the Future Fit Conference promises to be an invaluable and informative day of discussion and strategic thinking - so don't miss out.
