Get Set Go - Year 0-2
The Sport Bay of Plenty Physical Skills Educators deliver the Athletics New Zealand ‘Get Set Go’ Programme.
Get Set Go supports teachers to develop active, skilled and physically literate students through an holistic approach that encourages learning through play and fun.
Using a games based approach the Physical Skills Educators develop physical movement skills, cognitive and social/emotional skills through games for all year 0-2 students.
Each session is 30-45 minutes in length and there are 10 sessions in the unit.
Multiskills - Year 3-4
The Sport Bay of Plenty Physical Skills Educators deliver the Multiskills programme which has been designed by a Primary School Physical Education Teacher.
This programme includes 3 units: large balls, small balls and striking.
The Multiskills Programme uses a teaching games for understanding approach to develop a variety of skills that are transferable across a range of sports.
Each unit has 4 sessions with a total of 12 sessions over the 3 units. Each session is 45 minutes in length.
Multisports - Year 5-6
The Sport Bay of Plenty Physical Skills Educators deliver the Multisports Programme for year 5-6 students.
This programme aims at encouraging and supporting students to acquire overall sport skills and specialised movement skills through a fun and multisport approach. Using games, students participate in Invasion, Net/Wall and Striking/Target.
There are a variety of sports in each unit such as Spike Ball, Hockey, Cricket, Badminton, Tennis, Tapu Ae, Rugby League, Basketball and so on. The Coachforce team of sport coaches train and monitor the development of each unit.
Each unit has 4 sessions with 12 sessions in total over the 3 units. Each session is 45 minutes in length.
