Get your adrenaline pumping this April with Adventure month and Play in the Bay!
Play in the Bay is an exciting initiative from Sport Bay of Plenty, developed in 2012 to provide beginner ‘have a go’ activities and events. We have collected the best adventure opportunities with top providers across the Bay of Plenty, allowing you to step out of your comfort zone, try something different, something daring … something you wouldn’t normally do.
This weekend in Rotorua, Adventure month kicks off with Aoteraoa Waka Experience Ltd, teaching you how to paddle a traditional Waka in the idyllic setting of Hamurana Springs. Enjoy your time on the water followed by a walk learning the history of the area by a local guide.
Aotearoa Waka Experience Ltd are running six sessions throughout Adventure month with both morning and afternoon options on Saturday 2nd, 9th and 16th at 10:00am-11:30am and 1:00pm to 2:30pm. They are also offering a free return bus service from the Rotorua Soundshell. To book you space contact Warner Rahurahu on 07 348 9252
Or perhaps you may like to explore the natural playground of the Whakarewarewa forest with over 150km of mountain bike trails waiting to be explored. If you haven’t mountain biked before no worries we have the answer for you, with Mountain Bike Rotorua - Try the Trails Beginner Mountain Bike ride on Sunday 10th April this Adventure month.
With an experienced guide you will learn basic skills before heading out the trails with a small group of fellow beginner riders. Enjoy the fun of the forest whilst learning some history of area. All bikes and helmets are provided, you just need to know how to ride a bike. Try something new and at the same time let a team of passionate riders do what love; teaching new riders the joys of the forest and what it has to offer you and your bike. Only $10 per person, spaces are limited so call Lauren today on 07 348 4125 x 610 or 027 269 2730 to book your space.
