Tuesday, September 19, 2017
Training for the Prince and Princess of the Mountain Race has begun in the lead-up to the October 28 running event.
The 2017 Prince and Princess of the Mountain Race will be held at 11am on Saturday 28 October at Firmin Field, Kawerau. The race is for nine to 13-year-old children and takes in the lower foothills of Putauaki over approximately 4km.
Training is organised into seven sessions and starts from the new Kawerau Adventure Hub at Firmin Lodge, Waterhouse Street, Kawerau.
Those participating in training will need to bring running shoes, a drink and some warm clothes to put on after running.
As you are entering the forestry area, all participants will need to sign in on the training register prior to starting and have a number allocated.
Entry forms are here and will also be available at the start/finish area at every training session.
Please be on time for training. If you have not registered at each session before the start, you will not be able to run. All runners will be finished by 5.30pm.
Parents, friends and caregivers are welcome to join in. Walk or jog the course with the children, or please help with marshaling on the course.
