Tauranga City Baseball begins preseason training
Tuesday, August 8, 2017
Tauranga City Baseball (TCB) has begun preseason training for 5-15 year olds, and is calling out for kids to come along and give it a go.
Preseason training is held every Sunday from 1-3pm at Gordon Spratt Reserve, Papamoa.
The club is now into its third year and is part of a large baseball growth wave across the country.
From humble beginnings, the club is now reaching critical mass, having more than doubled in its first two seasons, going on to run two competitive age groups last season and sending a U13 team to nationals in Auckland.
The majority of the juniors have never played the game before, so it has been an enjoyable learning curve and with a solid coaching unit, TCB is on track to achieve great things this season.
Preseason is a good opportunity for kids to get involved - perhaps they have been used to playing cricket or softball, have not even considered a summer sport, or just want to try something new.
The club invites anyone who is interested to come along, learn some baseball skills and, if they like it, sign up for the regular summer season.
