Sports Talk: BOP Badminton

Thursday, August 30, 2018

Last week BOP Badminton Association in conjunction with Badminton NZ hosted the “Yonex 2018 NZ Master’s Champs” at the QEYC Hall in Tauranga.

150 players from across NZ aged 35+ came together to compete against one another for their respective age group titles (5 year age groups). There was also a group of players in a Division 2 – Social Section which was re-instigated after not being contested for several years!

The games were played in great spirit and BOP Badminton also arrange two fun social events. Friday night was a fun quiz night followed on Saturday night with a ‘Hawaiian Luau’ themed dinner and dance. Lots of fun was had by all!
