Rotorua teams have rallied to take home two top titles at the Tip-off secondary schools pre-season tournament.
Locally, girl power proved strong as Western Heights High School and Rotorua Girls High School won the two girls' categories.
Western Heights won the senior girls' round robin competition at the three-day event at the Energy Events Centre over the weekend.
The side took home the trophy after beating Rotorua Girls 30-25, Hauraki 50-31, Paeroa 49-25, Tauranga 48-27 and Kokiri 62-35.
In the junior girls' section Rotorua Girls stormed to a 57-19 win over Paeroa College in the final to take the title for the third year in a row.
The top junior team, captained by Dekoda Roberts, reached the final after an unbeaten run in pool play - including a thumping 61-4 win over Hauraki and a 73-15 win over Western Heights.
Sue Pene, the coach for both the junior and senior Rotorua Girls sides, said she was delighted with the outcome for her young side.
"I'm very pleased - this is a very young team for their category and they really impressed throughout the tournament," she said.
"In the final we moved the ball very quickly up the court and created lots of opportunities and in defence we put a lot of pressure on the ball and were very solid."
