LiteClub is a free programme for community sports clubs around the country, helping them be more efficient with electricity, water, and waste. Through simple on-the-spot changes during clubrooms visits, the clubs not only reduce their environmental footprint, they also save money that can be put back into sport

Since 2011, more than 1260 sports clubs nationwide have participated in the LiteClub programme and it has been calculated that the changes made will save well over $7 million for sport.

Many clubs within the region have already received a visit by the LiteClub teams, who have installed hundreds of LED light bulbs, tens of metres of hot water cylinder pipe lagging, heaps of tap aerators to control water flow, toilet cistern weights to reduce water wastage and sorting at source bins to help with recycling, at NO COST to the clubs.

The LiteClub team spends two to three hours at each clubroom, making on the spot changes to reduce energy, water and waste at your club and it’s all FREE.

They also note larger opportunities to improve environmental efficiency at the clubhouse and write these into an action plan, sent to your club after the visit.
