The KiwiSport Fund is a government funded initiative to promote sport for school-aged children.

Sport Bay of Plenty manages the fund on behalf of the community with 100% being distributed to sporting and community organisations in the Bay of Plenty. The funding rounds are held annually for sporting and community organisations to apply for investment for projects that meet the outcomes of KiwiSport.

The aim of KiwiSport is to:

• Increase the number of school-aged children participating in organised sport
• Increase the availability and accessibility of sport opportunities for all school-aged children
• Support children to develop skills that enable them to participate confidently in sport

We have two types of funds available, the KickStart Fund and the Skilled Deliverers Fund.

The KickStart Fund (up to $2,000) is aimed at smaller projects that meet the outcomes of KiwiSport and are innovative and reduce barriers for students to participate in sport.

The Skilled Deliverers Fund (up to $15,000) is aimed at new initiatives (or current initiatives that are expanding into new areas) to develop skilled deliverers i.e. referees, officials, umpires, event managers and teachers.
