Thursday, March 28, 2013
James Street School is well on its way to becoming a “Bikes In Schools” school, having successfully received funding from both the Southern Trust and Pub Charity totalling $30,000.
The initiative aims to have a set of 60 children’s bikes, 2 specially adapted bikes for children with disabilities and 2 teacher bikes in a cycle shed permanently at the school. The school will also benefit from a network of fitness, skills and ‘pump’ cycling trails in the grounds of the school in WhakatÄne by the middle of the year.
