Thursday, October 25, 2018

The Tauranga Bay of Plenty Migrant Expo, whose key sponsor is Sharp Tudhope Lawyers, aims to showcase all our region has to offer newcomers. It will be held at Tauranga Boys' College on Sunday, 25 November 2018 from 10am – 3pm.

The expo will focus on showcasing products, services and information from a wide range of commercial, civic, regulatory, emergency, social, sporting and other community organisations active in our region.

Migrant expos have been successfully held across the country, and this is an exciting opportunity to bring it to the Bay of Plenty. Ann Kerewaro, President of Multicultural Tauranga says “Multicultural Tauranga is very pleased to be part of organising this Expo as a useful way to promote information that many migrants and newcomers seek when they first arrive in the Western Bay of Plenty”.

The event is a ‘welcoming’ initiative as part of the Welcoming Communities pilot programme being delivered by Tauranga City Council and Western Bay District Council in partnership with the local community.

Michelle Urquhart, Senior Solicitor from Sharp Tudhope Lawyers states, “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Migrant Expo. Sharp Tudhope have supported the Welcoming Communities pilot from the beginning, and the Expo is an important step in this initiative.”

Local community organisations are encouraged to participate in the event and showcase what they have to offer newcomers to our region.

Kim Saunders, Manager of Citizens Advice Bureau Tauranga and Papamoa encourages local organisations to get involved, and newcomers to come along; “This event is all about people helping you to make a great life in the Bay”.

Registrations for expo stall sites close on Friday, 2 November. Organisations can register by emailing: For more information visit:
