Lookout Bay of Plenty! There's a new sport in town - floorball - a fun and exciting game similar to indoor hockey but with smaller teams and shorter games.
In Term 2, BayActive is a launching floorball league open to Year 2 to Year 8 students in mixed gender teams of four people on Thursdays from 3.30pm – 5.15pm. All equipment is provided including sticks, balls, goalie equipment, and bibs. Umpires are also provided as part of the game.
A family and adult league starting on Sunday 12th May will also be available, which can be a great opportunity for the family to get together on a Sunday and have some fun together. This will be played on a full sized rink the size of a basketball court and will be 5 aside teams including the goalie. Once again all equipment and umpires will be provided.

What is floorball?
Floorball is easy to learn, requires minimal skill and is fast paced but safe. Floorball is played indoors, within a 50cm high boarded rink, and a specific type of hockey stick and ball. The goals are set in so play continues behind the goal-line, similar to ice hockey.
The game is quick with 2 x 10-minute halves and played in a small rink about the size of half a basketball court for juniors and a full basketball court size rink for adults and family leagues.
BayActive have a Coaching Clinic or Introduction to Floorball for 5 to 13-year-old children on Thursday 18th April run at the Trustpower Arena. To book this exciting new programme please go to Click here
