EBOP Swimming Championships - Results
Friday, March 24, 2017

Nearly 200 competitors took part in the Eastern Bay of Plenty Swimming Championships in Whakatane, which has been held annually since 2011.
The times are getting faster, with many records broken, and there was also a record set for the lowest number of disqualifications at a EBOP Schools Championship. This shows the work swimmers and schools are putting in to prepare for these meets.
There were clean sweeps from four of the local champions, Ngamihi Simpson from Kawerau South, Jamie Julian from Awakeri, Jamie Forsyth from Ohope Beach School and Kaylee Lawlor from Allandale, who won all their races and claimed a few records as well.
