Discover Squash for Women

Friday, February 15, 2019

Squash Bay of Plenty is hosting a 'Discover Squash for Women' on Sunday March 3 in an effort to attract new female players to the sport.

Squash is a great way for women to get fit, have fun and socialise with friends.

The sporting market is crowded and there's a multitude of sport options for new players to choose from, each with their own unique benefits. Squash Bay of Plenty is keen to attract new players, particularly women, and demonstrate that the sport is a fun activity for all ages, genders and abilities.

BOP Squash

Across the country squash is played in vibrant and welcoming clubs by people from all walks of life. Squash is a fun, fast and exciting sport that is easy to learn and can be played all year round. Research shows playing 30 minutes of squash can burn 517 calories, making the sport a great option for lifelong health and wellbeing.

Fair warning though - it's one of those sports that once you try it, you will be hooked!

This year Squash Bay of Plenty is keen to promote the sport to women. Various opportunities will be available to new and existing players to get down to their local club and have a go. The first event is a two hour ‘have a go’ session at the Devoy Squash & Fitness Centre in Tauranga. The session is free and a great opportunity to learn about the game and have a try. Coaches will be on hand to guide you through and give you tips to get started.
