COVID-19 Level 2 update

At 6am on Sunday, February 28, 2021 the Bay of Plenty region returned to COVID-19 Alert Level 2

The health and wellbeing of our community continues to be a priority, so Sport Bay of Plenty has implemented a number of public health measures across our services.

Green Prescription

In-person Green Prescription appointments and walking groups continue under Alert Level 2 with appropriate physical distancing and public health guidelines in place. Please get in touch if you would prefer a phone consultation.

Some educational groups will continue to run if physical distancing and public health guidelines are met. Your advisor will be in touch to let you know of any cancellations.

Please stay home if you are sick, and contact your Green Prescription advisor if you have any questions.

Active Families

In-person Active Families appointments continue under Alert Level 2 with appropriate physical distancing and public health guidelines in place. Please get in touch if you would prefer a phone consultation.

Group sessions, school and community-based activities will proceed provided physical distancing can be maintained, and gathering numbers are below restrictions.

Please stay home if you are sick, and contact your Active Families advisor if you have any questions.

Keep on Your Feet – community strength and balance classes

The majority of community strength and balance classes continue to operate under COVID-19 Alert Level 2 where gatherings are restricted to no more than 100 people. Participants can expect social distancing and other Level 2 measures to be in place.

Club sport, play and active recreation

Please contact your club or recreation provider directly. Many clubs and activity providers have developed operating plans for various alert levels, and will be able to advise their members directly regarding any procedures under Alert Level 2.

Sport NZ also provide comprehensive advice for play, active recreation and sport at all Covid-19 alert levels.

Sport Bay of Plenty workshops – coaching and sport development

Sport Bay of Plenty continues to monitor Covid-19 alert levels and Ministry of Health advice. Participants registered for any upcoming workshops will be notified directly if any alert level changes affect the way these workshops are run.
