Bowls Seeks New Members
Monday, March 7, 2016
Indoor bowls is a game for all ages from 11 to 80+ and enjoyed by families and couples. It can be played at a purely social level or as a competitive sport from club events up to regional and national championships through to international tests. Indoor Bowls is played at the AIMS Games and there is secondary school level competition as well as open grade.
Te Puna Indoor Bowling Club has its club sessions on Monday nights from 7:15pm to about 10:00pm. Beginners need to wear flat soled shoes, and all equipment is provided through the club. Subscriptions are only $47 for the winter season through to October - $5 for juniors - so indoor bowls would be one of the cheapest sports to play. The club meets at the Te Puna Memorial Hall at the corner of State Highway 2 and Te Puna Road.
