BOP Swimming event changes location around the BOP every few years. This year it was in Tauranga at the Baywave aquatics and leisure centre.
The venue was perfect having 10 lanes and fantastic views from all sides of the pool. Schools travelled from Taupo, Opotiki ,Whakatane and Rotorua to attend the BOP Championships.
The swimming was action packed from backstroke to the 25m dash. Some of the disciplines ranged from 200m Aerobic -Longer distance swim, our endurance swimmers were amazing .
The 100m and 50m shorter distance events with faster strokes resulted in some intense watching - thank goodness for touch pad timing! We have some very talented swimmers here in the BOP. Talking with some of the students they were happy as they achieved personal best times on the day.
Some very close individual scores this year some winners only winner by 1 point
