BOP Secondary School Rock Climbing 2019 - Results

Over 100 students participated from all across the Bay of Plenty.

The Junior section boys and girls had some exciting action in bouldering and top rope. Well down to all the young climbers who never gave up and gave it a go -no matter how challenging the climbs or bouldering was.

Senior competition was fierce in the boys grade. Top honors going to the Rotorua region John Paul College and Rotorua Lakes High School .

Senior Girls top honors to Mount college taking out 1st and 3rd place. Rotorua Lakes High School taking 2nd place.

Climbers on the top ropes displayed some brilliant climbing skills. Students showed there strength and balance as they gripped tightly half way up the wall looking for the next place they could put there foot or hand to advance up the wall. Bouldering is another discipline of the competition and some students were simply amazing how they can hold their body weight on an uneven wall.

Overall trophy went to Mount College, 2nd John Paul College and 3rd place Taupo Nui A Tia College.

Thank you to all schools that helped out on the day and a big thank you to Rocktopia team you guys were superb.
