This summer is the perfect time to get cycling, with the New Zealand Transport Agency launching the Aotearoa Bike Challenge.
This fun, friendly workplace challenge is all about getting more New Zealanders on their bikes and experiencing the joys of cycling. The challenge runs throughout February and is all about participation, not competition.
Each workplace’s goal is to get as many staff to sign up as possible and ride a bike for at least 10 minutes or more during February. The higher percentage of staff cycling within your organisation, the more chances you have of winning prizes. You can also receive prizes for encouraging others to ride.
The Aotearoa Bike Challenge will take the place of Sport Bay of Plenty’s popular Tour de Bay Corporate Challenge which has run for the past five years. As an organisation Sport BOP wish to support the New Zealand Transport Agency with this fantastic new initiative which compliments Play in the Bay’s Bike month and the range of cycling activities happening Bay wide during February.
All BOP workplaces who enter will also get the chance to win additional prizes and take part in a photo contest organised by Sport BOP.
This is a great workplace challenge that can create some friendly banter within and between local workplaces whilst doing something good for the environment by ditching the car and choosing pedal power.
Get cycling, log a ride, encourage your colleagues to get involved and get rewarded with prizes.
