Postponing the Year 5-8 Amazing Race from Wednesday to Friday was a blessing in disguise, with gusty winds blowing the clouds away to deliver a crisp, sunny autumn day.
The event saw 30 Year 5-6 teams and 17 Year 7-8 teams (of up to six students) racing around Mt Drury, Mount Maunganui, to complete a series of challenges and puzzles. From tyre rolling (while wearing flippers on your hands) and racing down slides, to maths equations and lateral thinking, the teams were certainly put through their paces.
But no matter how hard the activities, there were plenty of smiles and lots of encouragement between the teams - plus the adult volunteers got a great workout running around after the kids!
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success and we'll see you again next year!
