In recent years Sport Bay of Plenty have partnered with the BayTrust to secure the CoachForce programme for 9 years in principle, broken into 3x3 yearly cycles covering 2019 – 2027.
The next cycle will be from January 2022 - December 2024.
Long term investment into Coach Development in the Bay of Plenty region has enabled the coach development system across a number of sporting organisations and codes to flourish. Long term investment has also enabled the participants on the programme to establish a greater sense of security and retention of key staff/systems. The security that long term investment has provided has positioned existing codes well to be able to take a long term approach to coach development, knowing that retention of funding is mitigated by the BayTrust’s strategic investment in coach development outcomes for the region.
As we finalise the first 3 year cycle of this investment we would like to update the sector on the process to be considered for investment for the 2022-2024 cycle as per below:
Current CoachForce Partners
As we approach the close of the first 3 year cycle we will begin a review of the existing partners participating on the programme. These partners will take priority for the 2022-2024 cycle, however it is important for the sector to understand that prioritization is directly linked to the capability and proven track record of coach development impact through the 2019-2021 cycle. All existing partners wishing to reapply to be part of the 2022-2024 cycles should apply below.
Our role as the facilitator of CoachForce recognises that there needs to be a spread of coach development opportunities across a range of sports and codes within the sector. We are currently seeking short form expressions of interest from those organisations that are currently not part of the existing CoachForce network. Expressions of interest will enable us to better understand the needs of the sector and help us to understand how we can support alternative codes and sports with additional funding that may be re-purposed from the current partner network – this may include a number of full, part or project-based positions/initiatives. Non existing partners can complete a short form expression of interest below.
We will respond to all applicants once the application window closes after 8th October 2021.
Any questions regarding the above process should be directed to Wiremu Tapara.
