We go out to bat for the people who make sport and recreation happen
Whether it’s professional development opportunities for volunteers in local sports clubs, support for coaches across multiple codes or advocating for great spaces and places to enable sport and recreation, we’re here to help our community and ensure there’s quality opportunities for people to get active.
Our reach
Our impact
Building capability in community sport
Growth happens at the grassroots. That's why we're helping local sports clubs develop their capability, ensure their sustainability and build their capacity to deliver great experiences to more people across the Bay of Plenty.
Creating a great sporting environment for women and girls
Sport has the ability to lift us all, but only when it's equitable. Earlier this year we ran a forum to discuss how to improve the opportunities, experiences and outcomes for women and girls in sport.
Professional development for coaches
Our world-class Development Coach Advance programme is empowering local coaches with new skills and practices that can best nurture our young local sporting talent.
Working to meet the needs of Māori
We're committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and, through the support and guidance of a Māori advisory group, have developed a new strategy to help build our cultural competency and foster the whanaungatanga that is central to collaborating and learning from Māori communities.
