Bay of Plenty Secondary School Monthly Awards

Throughout the school year from February to November the Secondary School Monthly Awards recognise and honour the sporting excellence of Bay of Plenty young people and their mentors.

Each month there are nine winners. (Click on category to be linked to nomination form)

To recognise individual acts of sportsmanship and/or fair play in Secondary School events, Horizon sponsor a Fair Play award unique to the Eastern Bay of Plenty sub region. The award honours students or coaches who demonstrate outstanding acts of sportsmanship and fair play both on and off the field, whether winning or losing, during competition. Recipients will show consistent cooperation, courtesy and respect for officials and opposing players while demonstrating modesty in victory and composure in defeat.

Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools receive reminders for nominations which close on the 5th of the following month, for the previous month’s awards. Nomination forms can also be downloaded from above and sent to School Sport Team Leader for judging. See The Staff page for contact details.
